John has broad experience in capital markets, finance, and private equity, in both legal and commercial roles. He served as the Managing Director of a London-based private investment firm and as General Counsel of a NYSE-listed special purpose acquisition vehicle (SPAC). He also has extensive experience in M&A and private equity transactions, having advised on such deals in New York, London, and Sub-Saharan Africa. John was a partner and co-founder at Epena Law and spent over 15 years as a senior partner at Hogan Lovells, where he headed the US corporate securities practice and co-headed the equity capital markets in Europe. He is a co-founder of Deed, an initiative that supports transformational and underrepresented founders, and serves as an advisor to GLC Capital, an investment firm focused on positive impact and sustainability. John is an angel investor with a focus on fintech and disruptive technologies and has been involved in various social impact projects.
